Sometimes there is something you want to do and other things keep getting in the way. Writing about Mind Mapping is one of those things. I have been doing mind maps for 25 years and they have been a huge help to me in my career and life. I often tell people that doing mind maps is like cheating. Its like cheating because for any particular topic doing a mind map will access all parts of your brain and get out all of the pertinent information on any subject. I use them weekly for my to do list for the week. I have used them with my partner as a way for us to design a course. I use them as a help in composing letters, developing project time lines and now on line with others for group brainstorms. There is great software that helps you create mind maps. It is called Mind Manager and it is put out by Mind Jet. One of the beautiful things about this software is you can get a free 30 day trial and there are the best tutorials I’ve ever seen, DUH, they are all mind maps.
What the Bleep Do We Know
If you are looking for a great movie that really makes you think than you should rent or buy the movie "What The Bleep Do We Know". I’m amazed with all of the stuff on their website. There truly is a fire that has been flamed by the movie.
Here is the synopsis of the film from Net Flix "The neurological processes and "quantum uncertainty" of life are
explored in this film. Thrust from her mundane life into an Alice in
Wonderland-like world, Amanda (Marlee Matlin) must develop a brand-new
perception of the world and the people she interacts with. Interviews
with various experts are interspersed throughout the film, which
combines narrative, documentary and animation. "
Mother Teresa Quote
My daughter was having a hard time with people who didn’t live up to her expectations. She was unwilling to forgive them and accept them for where they were at. I sent her this poem and put it up here as a reminder to anyone reading this blog and to me. I hope you enjoy it.
People
are often unreasonable,
Illogical and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.
If
you are kind,
People may accuse
You of selfish motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful,
You will win some false friends
And some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank,
People may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building,
Someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness,
They may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today,
People will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have,
And it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you have anyway.
You see, in the final analysis,
It is between you and God;
It never was between you and them anyway.
~Mother Teresa~
A Mr.Randy Baker informed me that this quote is actually from the book "Anyway: The Paradoxical
Commandments" by Kent Keith. I stand corrected.
Power vs Force Revisited
I found an interesting site by Dr. David Moyle that calibrates popular media using the Power vs Force scale. Remember that anything under 200 is taking energy from the universe and anything over 200 is adding positive energy. Here are his results :
Again are all of these true, who knows. Does it make sense to me, yea. Do I still like to watch NFL football, sure. The point is only to be aware.
I’ll do a post some day on What The Bleep, but if any of this Between Seeing stuff makes sense to you you should rent the DVD.
He also points out, as does Dr. Hawkins, that the consciousness of the world is increasing and this is a good thing.
Check out the site to see some other shows he rated.
Dr. David Hawkins Power vs. Force
Dr. Hawkins is one amazing man and he is an enigma. He has authored three fantastic books and developed a scale for measuring consciousness. The books are Power vs Force, The Eye of the Eye and I: Reality and Subjectivity. A fourth book should be available shortly. His Power vs Force book is now number 187 on the Amazon best seller list. I think this is due to his being profiled in Wayne Dyer‘s latest book The Power of Intention.
One of the people quoted about the book is Mother Teresa. She says "A beautiful gift of writing. You spread joy, love and compassion through what you write. The fruit of these is peace which you know."
His publishers site on him is here. You can also listen to him in fascinating hour long conversations on a wide range of subjects on this site.
